"Is the CNMI being Federalized by "conquest" or "consent"?
The Covenant means what is says and says what it means. That there should be mutual consent by both parties local and federal regarding any amendments to the Covenant. To ensure smooth and peaceful negotiations, there should be facts laid out on the table. These facts are the tools and materials to create a solid agreement just as when the Covenant was created. The Federalization bill leaves questions as to its so called findings. These were not overtly addressed to the public in a way to intice participation but rather an overt approach in its delivery. Federalization was always an issue but it's advancing call did not occur untill late 2006. Cohen urged the people to come out and speak as "one" voice. But the intent and timing of the matter was to create dissention amongst the local population and the guest workers who prior were co-existing peacefully. It's an old conquistador trick: "divide and conquer". Order after chaos...their order. When we gave up our sovereignty to the United States, we also surrendered our people to its service. Which means our sons and daughters who believed in the goodness and democracy of America swore to defend it till their very last breath. These children of our island were honorable men and women who joined the service to make their families proud. But the hearts of mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters are broken only to hear the news of their loved one visiting them for the last time in a casket. These sons and daughters of the CNMI bravely fought for America and the president who sent them. But ironically they could not even vote for him. How can we serve a president who our people cannot even vote for? Has anyone addressed this issue? The dichotomy of serving someone who does not regard you or recognize you as important is repugnant! It is slavery! Especially when the life of a child is taken away forever for the advancement of an illegal agenda (WMD's have never been found in Iraq). The guest workers are yelling for improved status and the Feds are intertaining them. What about the indegenous people? What status do we have? We can't even vote for president or members of congress. We have a non-voting delegate who really is limited in his role in Washington. The Feds have offered nothing to subsidize funding to jump start the economy but by grants that are not even specified in the bill as to its amount. Grants cannot trickle to the average person until it levels off positively to benefit everyone. Fact is, if we give in, the axe would 've already been way too deep at the truck of the tree. No turningback to the sacred Covenant. No freedom of real sefl-determination. Federalization will be creep into our collective souls and taint our culture who for centuries had taught us to feed off the land rather than feed off each other.

OUR FALLEN HEROES
SAME THING WILL HAPPEN HERE - JUST CHANGE THE NUMBERS
JUST CHANGE THE NUMBERS TO CNMI NUMBERS AND
THE COHEN PLAN WILL HARM THE CNMI IN THE SAME WAY
CURRENT IMMIGRATION POLICIES WILL DAMAGE THE USA.
